Golden Child

 audrey dupuis

Lyrics:

I have never really been the type to make a wave

That capsizes towns into oceans

I have never really been the type to sit on the sidelines

I’m front and center

Fingers crossed and I’m hoping

That I won’t mess it up

In front of everyone I’ve ever known and loved

I have never been the type to cry in front of people

I’ve been told to “dry those tears,

Don’t ever let them hear you”

I have never tried to try in front of people

Cuz if I try and fail then my failure makes me equal

I have never been

A source of disappointment

No, and,

I have never been

Anything other than complaisant

Golden Golden

Golden Child

I have always been the golden child

Check my pulse and count to ten

Pray to their god that I’ll be ne

Sit look pretty and smile

Maybe somebody will talk to me

Once in a while

I have never been

Anything less than perfection

No, and,

I will always try

To be her Golden Child

Take me back x3

To my home

All my fears x3

I won’t show

I will be x3

Silent now

Promise I

Promise I

(Promise I) *rst ending* *repeat*

I will be your

Golden x2

Golden child) *second ending*
